T'was the day before Defaultmas...

...and all through the House,
not a creature was stirring.
Not even a louse.

This is going to be a busy week for the cartoonists, and there are so many good ones already that I need to get a few posted before Sunday.


A new Gallup poll shows 60 percent of Americans think the Democratic and Republican parties have done a poor job of representing the people during the government shutdown.  They think a third major party is needed.

Of course, the majority of that 60 percent who think we need a third party think it should be *between* the GOP and Dems, despite the bottom half of your set of cartoons.

There's a technical word for people like that. It's called "enablers."

Accurate, as always.

A group of New Whigs, comprised of establishment Republicans and corporate Democrats could actually cobble out something resembling a caucus, but it would not be to the benefit of anyone except themselves, as usual.

It remains to be determined if the Greens and Libertarians can make some political hay of this. (I'm not holding my breath.)
