Yes, after all these decades of being overseen by Republicans, it's the Democrats that are ruining our beautiful country. Even Joe Rogan is sounding the warning.
Now if only the Donks could get out of their own way ...

The upset victories of Dr. Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan and Angie Nixon in Florida have put the Democrats' civil war in sharp relief. Are moderates more electable? If so, who cares ...if they don’t do anything once they get into office?
Their voters seem to be finding some common ground.


Small victories. Incremental progress.
No we won't. Thank goodness.

Chicken Taco Catering Toons


The week's news item regarding T-Baby's tactical retreat from the Mideast gave the world's cartoonists all the inspiration they needed.

If the president is hiding in another plane -- leaving the Secretaries of State, Treasury, and the WH press to bear the risk of being shot down by the Iranians; a risk deemed not credible but still one he wouldn't take -- then the military conflict is obviously going very badly.


Which brings us to the USS Lincoln and depleted missile stockpiles.


General Dynamics had a contract worth a half-billion dollars to deliver bombshells to Ukraine and failed to produce a single one because its Turkish robots were, in a word, stooges.
In breaking surveillance news, ICE got a new weapon.


Oh, and among other space phenomena -- planets aligning, Perseids streaking -- there was a total eclipse in parts of western Europe.


No alien sightings that I know of.

Socialism Sunday Funnies


Today's economics lesson is here to remind you that capitalism is the greatest -ism that has ever been. Or ever will be.

The younger generation is leading the swelling democratic socialist movement, and now, finally, with some electoral momentum the GOP would like to make certain they insult them every chance they get. Hey, us olds vote and the grandkids don't (allegedly), so that's the outreach strategy here.

When you get an -ism named after ya, you're hot shit, right? Ladies and gentlemen, introducing Senator Joe McCarthy of Wisconsin, resurrected for the rebirth of the Red Scare.
'Medicare for All' does not mean what Chip Bok (above) thinks it means, but this (below) from Bramhall has a bit of truth; Republicans do think 'socialist' is something they can capitalize on. It's also true that their successful November outcome depends on cooperation -- unwitting or otherwise -- from certain Democrats *cough*James Carville*cough*Jasmine Crockett*cough*.
Steve Kelly presents the stupid I don't want to try to fix any longer: literally none of those are actual socialists. This is "the Nazis were socialists it's right there in their name" discussion. AKA monkeys flinging turds.

Why the woman with the legal pad has one Caucasian leg and one Black one escapes me.
Update: Anon points out that it might be shadow, as with El-Sayed's fingers, but the whole leg being in background shade doesn't look right to my eye. That would be uncharacteristically poor art from this artist. More inclined to think he just missed tinting both legs white. - PD

I am extremely doubtful that AIPAC will be exiting the Donks, willingly or not. The Uniparty works harder and better for them than anyone.

Ramirez portraying Cornyn and Tillis as towering leaders of the Senate for their 15-minute delay of Todd Blanche's confirmation is among the best/worst propaganda yet. For a dude that shows signs occasionally of getting it, when Mike Ram misses it's by miles. And miles.

There is no vaccine for Fauci Derangement Syndrome. Never will be.
We should all just roll over for data centers. Can't fight it, should just go with it.

Bored of Peace and Prosperity Toons


Growing up in the middle of it, I never really understood until about '73 exactly who was winning and who was losing in Vietnam. Not so in Iran today.

The USA is clearly getting its ass kicked.

This week's wild card is 'Saudi nukes'. Grift percentage negotiable.
But just as Team Donkey started to gain momentum -- left flank, anyway -- they made some really unfortunate mistakes of their own.

Meanwhile inside the DC bubble, Red MAGA was distracted by a shiny Italian object.

Fauci is guilty of being a nerd and a fanboi. Oddly enough, the two worst conservo-toonists of late picked up on that.

The attacks against intelligence are of greater concern.

And on our privacy.
