The cartoon about the "killer deals" is too damn close to reality except for the assumption that the consumer gets a good deal. These workers are being forced to put out so much and abused so bad they can't possibly make good products and the merchandise that looks good for a little while routinely falls apart and they steal from the workers who get abused at one end and the consumer that gets crap for their money at the other. They have increased advertising expenses and lobbying through the roof and they no longer have to compete now that they've consolidated into oligarchies but the workers still do.
