"Relax, He's a Doctor" Funnies

Not the greatest battle in the history of our country.

But how can Jesus be losing to a Lego Army of Allah?

Even Christians are tiring of this stunt now, so I'll short the blasphemy.
The secular idolatry that TJeez is proposing cannot sanewash the legacy he will leave; the one that ballrooms and arches are intended for. Note that these yuge construction projects won't be completed while he is office (or even still living). That is, if you believe that a peaceful transfer of power is still capable of happening.
I wouldn't count on that. Not with the Donkeys standing as the alternative.
When Kamala Harris lost the 2024 election, a lot of centrist Democrats blamed progressives, as they did when Hillary Clinton lost in 2016, and it’s been a constant drumbeat of recrimination ever since. I’m talking about folks like Quentin Fulks, who blamed Harris’ loss on activists forcing politicians to apologize and “men don’t like people who apologize.” ...

Progressives didn’t select Clinton, Biden, or Harris (all of them centrists). Progressives didn’t decide to have Biden run for a second term -- or for Biden to drop out less than four months before the election. Progressives didn’t select Harris, didn’t decide on her campaign strategy, didn’t write her speeches or choose her issues.

The self-serving pretense by centrists that progressives are to blame -- when they themselves made every decision in the Harris campaign -- is ridiculous.

And they will surely do it again.
The fiery implosion of Eric Swalwell's political career leaves California Dems scrambling to pick up the shattered pieces of a more-chaotic-than-usual gubernatorial jungle primary. Leftover Democrats in that race are circling the sex pest's former supporters like seagulls over a dropped hot dog, but the race is still so crowded with bland shitliberals that the top two choices in November might be a billionaire and a MAGA teevee commentator. So naturally, Democrats had to kick the Green Party's Butch Ware off the ballot. Just to be safe.

This would be that vaunted 'democracy' so many keep telling us they're fighting for.
Two down, two to go. But until Congress can muster some opposition to that sweet Zionist cash, it will be Israel's business as usual. Texas Democrats still have time to correct their unforced error.
Were you satisfied with the size of your tax refund? If so, please try not to act as aroused as Kuffner throating the girth of James Talarico's bank.

What I had forgotten about Phil Garner as a player was the size and definition of his forearms. Those hirsute, twisted cable, ship chain-resembling gunstocks. This photo is classic for a dozen reasons -- the '70s unis, the stirrups, the double play breakup -- but that's my favorite.

Communication Breakdown Toons

In the midst of delicate negotiations ...

... in our on again/off again war on Iran ...

... FLOTUS Melania Knauss Trump suddenly interrupted with a press conference (at which she took no questions) to say that she never had any relationship at any time with Jeffrey Epstein. And that the "lies need to end today".

Finally, something we can all agree on.

Speaking of that ...
Trump wants to deal again but the Iranians are holding a strait and yes, they are also playing not-12-dimensional chess. With morons.

We should build our Glorious Leader a giant tribute to commemorate his victories.

So it seems the United States will return, for the first time since 1973, to enrolling young men involuntarily to fight their wars of choice, particularly if those wars are to advance Western imperialism, control of petro-resources, or expanding the footprint of the Zionist project. After all, future conflicts over water, rare minerals, and guiding the development of artificial intelligence into a corporate hegemonic dystopia cannot all be fought by robots.

Besides, there's profit opportunities.

While we wait we can play some word games.
Meanwhile the DNC and assorted groupies gathered at NAN, Rev. Al Sharpton's confab, to do their usual nothing about anything and also to celebrate the fortunes they're reading in their cookies. As Ted Rall notes:

Democrats who dominate the conversations on the nation's op-ed pages and cable news networks -- self-identified 'thought leaders' -- continue to make the argument that their party must move right to win, never that Republicans must move left to do the same. Self-serving?
Impressively occupying the entire space where an actual opposition party -- anti-war, pro-environment, supporting working Americans -- is supposed to be is a tough damned job. And the only one the Democratic Party is capable of doing effectively. So the solution, obviously, is to renominate the person who won zero delegates in her home state before dropping out, and after being selected by a caucus of one, twice, ran a campaign featuring Liz Cheney and Hillary Clinton while advocating for "the strongest, most lethal fighting force in the world".
The changes we need will not be happening with these people, these political parties, or these methods. If you're seeking some good news, it's within our sight and reach but not our motivation. Our species doesn't yet have the courage to tackle the intractable, and if you want to be inspired by something beyond performative dance, look elsewhere. Frankly, a brief fly-around the moon did not do it for me.

Easter Bunny Funnies

Holy Week ends the way most have lately: more of Trump's managers fired, another ethics cloud darkening the White House, and another promise that everything is "totally under control" as the wars and the global economy spin out.

Pam Bondi is unemployed after becoming the administration's fall person for the endlessly botched Epstein files saga. Meanwhile, allegations continue to swirl around suspiciously timed stock and oil trades that somehow seem to anticipate every sudden shift on Iran policy, because apparently some people always know exactly when war threats are about to disappear.

'Shelling' out more to the rich.

More raw milk with your steak and lobster, Pete?
News: Trump destroys civilian infrastructure for the first time -- a bridge connecting Tehran and the suburb of Karaj -- after threatening to 'bomb Iran back to the Stone Age'.
