Minority Report Toons

Department of Precrime.

Bullies? Gangsters? Fools?

Heroes?
I’m gonna take two weeks
I’m gonna have a fine vacation
Gonna take my problems
To the United Nations

Eddie Cochran, 'Summertime Blues' (covered by Rush)

Can we turn the heat down a little? No?

Luckovich ought to be embarrassed by this. "Unafraid Dems", LOL.
Late night talk show hosts aren't going to save the nation from plutocracy.
Neither, certainly, are the likes of Ezra Klein.
Catching up on Deep-In-The-Hearta:

Rest in everlasting power, Queen.

"No Donny, These Men are Nihilists" Funnies

"They don't believe in anything."

*Uninformed Adult Content Warning: some younger readers -- and certain mega-MAGA types -- might be alarmed by toons and memes in this week's collation. Proceed at risk of your sensitivities and insensibilities being challenged.
Truth is fluid. Facts are flexible. Faith is malleable. Forgiveness by the higher power of your choosing is both situational and contingent upon your political indoctrination. If T-King actually believes he can get into heaven, or win the Nobel Peace Prize ... his wildly successful long con has overtaken even him. That's the definition of megalomania.

This is what they have decided will be normal.

After reading some excerpts of Kamala's book, I would say that she isn't planning on running for political office again. Unless her plans would be to do to the Democratic Party what Netanyahu is doing to Gaza. We know she was never opposed to that.
Perhaps fascism or genocide simply don't concern you. Maybe you're that person who thinks that electing Democrats will fix all this. That oligarchy with some abortion and a few gay rights (but not those nasty trannies) is the path back to normalcy.

Disavow yourself of that.

Maybe consider opposing a societal scourge more existential than authoritarianism.

"Politics the Right Way" Toons

I'm going to start doing it. But before I do, return with me briefly to a simpler time -- last week -- when all we had to worry about was authoritarianism flavored more like 1939 than 1968.
*Update Mon. 9/15 - two new toons below won't stay fresh enough for next Sunday given how many pieces news is breaking into. I kept them in flow and removed a dupe from last week (I don't like reruns; that was an error).

Now then ...

"So much belligerence. Can't you ask nicely?"

Detecting the same amount of outrage as the changing of the Cracker Barrel logo.

Meanwhile the Real Apocalypse is Now.

There were some additional concerns, as Susan Collins might describe them, that seemed to have been lost in the proverbial flood of hatred and disinformation. In no particular order:

And First Dog on the Moon has an amusing follow-up to their "Lies!" cartoon from a week ago.

You bet your Caracas he would.
