Days of the Dead Funnies

Predicted rain missed us in H-Town so the zombies were out in force.

There were plenty of other frights about.

There appears to be a storm coming.

T-BabyMan isn't going to take out all the fascists that need removing, but I appreciate the efforts he's making. At home and abroad.

Maybe he'll get some credit for it.

Really though, I'm not so concerned about the post-midterms chaos -- not our election outcomes and not even the conservatives screeching about their world ending -- but the actual existential crises. The many looming that no political party is capable of addressing.
In a TV appearance in April 2024, Israeli-American journalist and pundit Emily Schrader said, “I don’t know of anyone who is in the current Israeli government that would support any form of genocide.”

Parsing the disingenuousness of "it's not a genocide" denials is huffing from the gaslight.

I do not expect those elections to result in any improvement in the lives of Palestinians.

As the veil between this reality and the next thinned this week, several of our beloved cultural icons passed through it and carried on ahead of the rest of us.

Operation Over Lord Musk Toons

Regarding the Russian-Ukraine conflict: I don't have a dog in the hunt. That was Joe Biden's war, and the Azov Nazis were not something I could overlook. It also became a proxy fight, not just NATO but Israel, which is why so many Jewish Blue Dogs (read: shitliberals) still fly blue and yellow flags on their profiles and in my 'hood.

But nobody needs Viceroy Musk with his heavy thumb on the switch.

Not on the battlefield and not at the ballot box.

450 m-m-m-million dollars and the GOP slot machine is still ringing.

The Democrats already had too many things to pay lip service to fixing, and now getting the goddamned money out of politics rockets into the top five. As for Yurp, it's the social revolution I'll be watching. It's not being televised in the US.
Number One with a bullet, faster and more threatening than the rise of Musk, is one of his creations; specifically some of Grok's more sophisticated cousins.

At this point I'll take almost any distraction from the midterms, and any one I can get from T-Pig.

Again, not like we don't have bigger fish to fry at the moment.

Like this.
More deaths of children this week. In this country, too. If you noticed.
Yeah, it's complicated.
The “victims to monsters” trope made the news in November 2025, when an old quote from Zohran Mamdani’s father, Columbia professor Mahmood Mamdani, surfaced: “The survivors of the Holocaust in Israel: yesterday’s victims turned today’s perpetrators.” He said that in 2002, but I’ve heard that sentiment recently expressed in quite a few internet discussions.

I’ve said that many of Israel’s defenders and groups like the Zionist Organization of America have been far too quick to call criticism of Israel antisemitism. I still believe that.

[...]

“The victims are now the monsters,” when said about Jews or Israel, has long been a pet peeve of mine. I think people are drawn to this trope because it suggests a clear and comprehensible storyline — oh, the irony! — which is more appealing than the foggy reality.

I’m very much a critic of Israel. But it’s true that some critics of Israel do conflate Israel and Jews in a way that’s antisemitic, sometimes purposely, and sometimes just thoughtlessly (both kinds are bad).

It’s possible to oppose the genocide in Gaza and oppose rhetoric that criticizes Jews in general rather than the state of Israel. (I put the black-haired woman in this cartoon in a “Free Gaza” t-shirt to make this point.)
